Revamping Her Website With Pinups!

I recently had the pleasure of working with an amazing client, actress Colleen Lis. Colleen lives in New York and was in the process of revamping her acting website. She wanted new and unique photos for her new site and she decided that pinups were the way to go!

Colleen booked the Full Day Package at the studio and in addition to getting some great new images for her website, she also decided to have one set of her photos taken in her wedding gown which was a gorgeous vintage styled tea length dress.

In addition to vending I will also be sponsoring the Pinup Contest on Friday night starting at 7pm. Hosting the event will be the lovely Jessica Lynn Gahring of TLC's hit TV show NY Ink! Among the judges for the contest will be the amazing Little Darling of Pinups For Pitbulls and the talented Troy Timpel of Tattooed Kingpin. Contestants please come dressed in your favorite pinup attire and sign up prior to the contest at the Celeste Giuliano Photography vendor table. The winner will receive a free photo shoot with me!

Photo Shoot With Venus In Chains

My talented client Victoria, founder and creator of Venus In Chains, a company that creates avant-garde chain maille accessories, recently posed for a burlesque style photos shoot here at the studio. The shoot was a few months in the making as Victoria meticulously hand made her entire costume as well as all the accessories!

Victoria's company combines the bold look of chain maille with the opulent sparkle of Swarovski crystal and the results are amazing! I was speechless whenVictoria showed me her fantastic Japanese Crystal Chain Maille Bikini costume and Crystal Flower Necklace for the first time and was so excited to have the opportunity to photograph her work.

It is finally ready to unveil... the cover image for the Celeste Giuliano Photography Special Edition of Reto Lovely Magazine!

This image taken at the Simeon Foundation Automotive Museum features cover model, Lorraine, posing with a 1921 Duesenberg Race Car. This car was one of three cars that entered the Grand Prix at Le Mans in 1921. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to spend an entire day photographing models with historic race cars at the Simeon Foundation this fall and many more images from this shoot will be featured in the Special Edition. A HUGE thank you to Dr. Simeon and his staff for allowing us access for the entire day - it was definitely a highlight of my career!

I am so happy to announce that I have finally finished shooting content for my Retro Lovely Special Edition. The last shoot took place on location in October and thanks to Robot Mouse, I have a SPECTAULAR one of a kind behind the scenes video for everyone to view. This shoot was based off of my love of old black and white horror movies such as The Uninvited and The Old Dark House which features the beautiful damsel in distress.

The shoot was on location in West Chester, Pa and the wardrobe was provided by the award winning Malena's Vintage Boutique. My gorgoeus model, Sarah, spent the day being "terrorized" by a derranged killer a.k.a my husband Dave.

I was super excited to have the opportunity to photograph the women of the Blue Monkey as the calendar features not only the gorgeous women who work at the bar but also some of their sexy patrons! We photographed all 12 ladies over a course of two days back in September and the calendars are finally ready to be unveiled, so you do not want to miss this release party!

My Client Blair Creates Amazing Art!

I adore my clients - it is that simple!
I am so fortunate to meet so many talented and creative women and Blair Barbour is one of them.

Blair, who is a collage artist and videographer, recently posed for her second time as a pinup. She just launched her website BlairBarbour.com and needed new images to help promote herself and her artwork. I was very excited to help her create a perfect and unique look for her website photos.

Since Blair creates the most amazing collages using mainly scissors and paper, we decided to focus one of her sets around these two props as they are important aspects of her artwork and creative process. Blair loved the simplicity of the Vargas style photos so we chose to emulate that for our first set.

For her second set Blair wanted a series of images she could utilize and change on the main page of her website and below are just a few of the many images that Blair is currently using. I loved that she used the striped Victorian parasol I purchased at an auction only a few days prior to her shoot - that was a lucky and timely find!

Blair will be displaying and selling her artwork at the prestigious Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Show this weekend, June 4-June 6. The show runs from 11 am-7pm Friday and Saturday and from 11am-5pm on Sunday. She will be located at Booth 65, right across from the Dorchester so be sure to stop by and check out her one-of-a-kind collages at the art show or on her website.

Pinups For Pitbulls 2011 Calendar Release Party

Pinups For Pitbulls will be holding its 2011 Calendar Release Party this Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 8pm-2am at Shampoo Nightclub in Philly.

I am so excited to not only have the cover photo for this years Calendar featuring Little Darling, Audiogirl, Carla Lou and Baxter but also 4 inside months! Congrats to my amazing clients Nicole & Jenks, Kim & Sarge, Lola Belle & Sweet Pea and Kerri Lynn & Alice who will all be featured in the year's calendar!

For the cover and inside photo of Little Darling (cover photo is featured below) it took over a week of working 14 hour days to build both sets. The inspirations for the shoots were vintage Dust bowl Carnivals of the 1930's but with a bit of a modern twist.

I spent weeks searching for vintage carnival props and my husband Dave and I also built many of the props pictured since vintage carnival props are hard and expensive to come by!

In early August, I photographed a group of amazing ladies who were celebrating a bachelorette party for the bride to be with a Pinup Party Photo Shoot Package. Nicole (the bride) who is a huge fan of pinups along with 4 of her friends Erin, Megan, Bekah and Nikki spent a fun day at the studio being pampered and transformed into pinups!

These gals were a blast to work with and did such an amazing job posing and having fun while in set that they made my job super easy that day!

I was also delighted to find out that Nikki, who is an army wife and mother has her own BLOG - A Yummy Mummy On A Pink Park Bench. She wrote the most amazing blog about her experience as a pinup complete with before and after photos of their hair and makeup transformations.

I recently had the pleasure of transforming Fajr Muhammad, a Philadelphia based online writer, vintage enthusiast and online marketer into a stylish pinup.

Sketched by A Playboy Cartoonist!!!

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Playboy cartoonist Doug Sneyd while in Chicago for the C2E2 Convention. Doug has been a cartoonist for Playboy magazine since 1964 and I was so lucky to have him draw a Playboy bunny charicature of myself in my copy of his book Unpublished Sneyd!

It was an amazing opportunity to meet both Doug and his wonderful friend Heidi Hutson - they are two of the sweetest people you will ever meet and Doug's work is such an inspiration to me! Doug blogged about our recent meeting on The Doug Sneyd Blog.

It isn't everyday that you get to be immortalized in a sketch by a Playboy cartoonist and to make my portrait complete Doug added the famous bunny ears. I am ecstatic that I had my chance and it definitely was a highlight of my trip - thanks Doug & Heidi!

New Vargas Inspired Photos!!!

I recently photographed one of my amazing clients, Courtney, in a "Vargas" style photo shoot.

Albertp Vargas became well known in the 1940s for his World War II era pin-ups for Esquire magazine known as "Varga Girls." The nose art of many World War II aircraft was adapted from Vargas' Esquire pin-ups. Vargas' paintings have always been an inspiration to me and I was excited to pay homage to his work through my photographs.

Pinups For Pitbulls 2011 Calendar Submissions!

Pinups For Pitbulls (PFPB) will release info and details on submitting photos for their 2011 Calendar in June. If you are interested in posing with your bully breed dog then I would suggest at least booking your "Pinups For Pitbulls" photo package now for a date in June or July. It a good idea to plan ahead, since I am booked about 1 - 2 months in advance and am booking into the summer months (June, July) and beyond right now.

Pinups For Pitbulls 2010 Calendar

I had the amazing opportunity to photograph a few lovely ladies and their canine companions for the 2010 Pinups For Pitbulls Calendar. Pinups For Pitbulls Inc. raises money and awareness to benefit the health and welfare of the pit bull breed and annually publishes a calendar featuring pinups with their bully-breed dog.

The theme of this years calendar was " A Tribute To Classic Pinups." Pinups For Pitbulls received over 100 photo submissions from all over the country and happily two of my clients were chosen as featured models for the 2010 calendar.

Pictured (top) is Reita (Miss January 2o1o) with her dogs Gunnar and Zelda. Reita's photo pays tribute to Gil Elvgren's "This Way I Draw More Interest" and (bottom) is Kerrie with her dog Alice whose photo pays homage to Alberto Vargas.

I was super excited when Neil Harner, editor of Philly Beer Scene Magazine asked me to shoot an editorial for their October/November Edition.

The concept for the shoot was a 1950 cigarette gal, a theme I have always wanted to photograph. By chance, a few weeks before Neil called about the job, I had purchased an authentic 1940s cigarette gal tray from an antique store so the timing couldn't have been more perfect!

Best of Main Line Party Pics!

Main Line Today Magazine held its Best of the Main Line and Western Suburbs 2009 Party, on Thursday, July 23. The event offered best of winners the opportunity to showcase their products for party attendees., which was estimated at over 1500 people.

Since I won Best Niche Photographer I had a booth at the event featuring my work and info on my Pinup Packages. On Display were new photos (which will soon be added to my website) as well as specialty items such as playing cards, calendars, mouse pads and magnets that my clients can have printed with their pinup photos. The playing cards and calendars were a big hit!

My stylist Raina and one of my clients, Courtney, who both looked gorgeous dressed as vintage pinups, helped work the event. It never hurts having pinup models to draw in a crowd!

Local celebrities Bam, April and Phil Margera as well as Channel 10 News Anchors Vai Sikahema and Glenn Hurricane Schwartz were among those in attendance.

Flying Monkey Patisserie, at the Reading Terminal Market, is famous in Philly for baking the most amazing & delicious handcrafted sweets. From cupcakes to brownies to cookies and cakes, the selection is amazing and their coconut cupcakes make my heart skip a beat ... so yummy!

Flying Monkey owner & baker, Rebecca, posed as a pinup in late 2008, and recently posted her pinup pic on the patisserie's website. Of course Rebecca came fully prepared to her photo shoot with freshly made Pistachio and Pink Rose cupcakes, that we featured with her in the photo. Rebecca was a blast to shoot and of course, my stylists and I couldn't wait to dig into the cupcakes Rebecca kindly left us after her shoot was over!

As most of you know I offer Pinup Party packages for groups of gals which are great ideas for Bachelorette & Birthday Parties or for groups of friends, families and co-workers.

If you are scheduling the Pinup Party Package for a Bachelorette or Birthday Party then remember you are not only celebrating a special event with a group of your friends but each gal is also getting her own individual photo shoot and prints that she can then give to her loved one as a (birthday, holiday or anniversary) present or keep as a present for herself to remember her day as a sexy starlet for posterity. Plus, if you are planning a night out on the town after your photos you are all dolled up and ready to go with your pinup hair and makeup!

I receive tons of questions regarding this packages so below is a

Pinup Party FAQ:

How many people are required to book the Pinup Party package?
The minimum number of gals required to book this package is 3 and the maximum number is 8. I have recently changed these amounts and have yet to update them on the Packages Page of my website.

How long does the Pinup Party last?
The length of time for your Pinup Party will depend in the amount of gals participating.
For 3-4 gals you will be at the studio for about 5-6 hours total and for larger groups of 5 or more you could be at the studio for 7-9 hours so expect to spend anywhere from a half to a full day at the studio.

What does the day entail?
During the day everyone will get professional hair and makeup as well as their own photo shoot in a theme/set of their choice. At the end of the day I can also take group photos of all the gals dressed as pinups. My stylists and I pride ourselves on providing you with professional work as well as giving you a fun and relaxing day of pinup pampering.

How do the consults work for the Pinup Parties?
Each gal gets a consultation which can be done in person at my studio or via the phone. You can schedule the consult individually, in pairs or as a group. If you are scheduling the consultation as a group I ask no more than 4 people come to the studio at a time.

Can we bring food/drink to the studio?
Yes, you are more then welcome to bring food/drinks. I have a full kitchen in the studio with a large refrigerator for you to use. If you bring alcohol with you I just ask that you do not bring an excessive amount. One drink to loosen up for the photos is fine but we still want everyone to be steady on their feet and looking good for the photos. If for any reason someone would become intoxicated and disruptive your party will be asked to leave.

If we have a large group, do we all need to come to the studio at the same time the day of the session?
No, I can schedule the gals in your party at specific times throughout the day in case not everyone can come together due to work etc. I usually like to have at least 2 people from your party in the studio at a time so that my hair stylist & makeup artist can each simultaneously work on a gal.

Photos of the New Studio!!!!

It's been a while in the making but I am so excited to finally be all moved into my brand new studio!!!! I am so excited to have such an amazing space to work in.

The new studio is adjacent to my old one (which is now my home) in the Overbrook Farms section of Philadelphia. My studio is only 10 minutes from Center City and is easily accessible from all major routes.

The studio is an amazing 1300/sf so I am more then doubling my shooting space as well as my closet area.
I have over 25 feet of closets packed with a huge selection of vintage-styled clothes, bathing suits, costumes, lingerie, shoes, aprons etc. Plus, I have a separate 300 sf prop room with rows upon rows of shelves stocked with all types of retro props.

With the new space I will now be able to offer lots of great new packages and backdrop setups and already have tons of ideas in the works so keep checking the blog or sign up for my mailing list to hear about all the new offers that will be coming your way!

This Queen is A Heartbreaker!

Here's a new photo cover I recently took for Tales From Wonderland, a comic book series from Zenescope Entertainment.
This series features a more twisted, darker take on Lewis Carroll's popular "Alice In Wonderland. This edition, which is due out in June, focuses on the story of a sexy, warrior-like Red Queen.

Our wonderful model was Cat. Many of you may recognize her from (93.3 WMMR) as Philly's Hottest Server and Miss June from Preston and Steve's 2009 Totally Office Calendar. Cat, was one of the sweetest models I have ever worked with! As you can see, she is amazing at posing in front of the camera. Cat is one of those models that not only takes direction extremely well but she also brings her own creativity to the shoot which makes the photos even better. Cat made my job super easy that day!

Cat didn't complain once while she was being sewn into the costume or while she was kneeling on the cold marble floor...
did I mention I just adore her! She will soon be posing for me again, but this time as a pinup, so I am extremely excited to have her back in the studio.

Hair and makeup were by the fabulous Raina Clarke who also helped me make Cat's costume.

Pregnancy Pinups - A Perfect Memento!!!

One of our "Pinup Regulars" & favorite clients, Amber, who is over 81/2 months pregnant, celebrated the event by posing as a Pinup in January - about 2 months before her due date of March 17!

I was so excited to photograph this set as I couldn't think of a more perfect pregnancy photo! Amber brought in the baby clothes she had purchased for her son to be, Kade, and wanted to pose hanging them on the clothesline. The photos turned out great and I just love that Amber wanted to remember her pregnancy with these photos!

The pinups are not only a fun and unique way to celebrate your pregnancy but are also a great gift to yourself. While at the studio it is our goal to not only pamper you for the day with professional hair, makeup and photos but also to make you look and feel like the sexy, glamorous woman you are. Celebrating Her Cancer Remission With A Day Of Pampering & Pinup Photos

My team and I recently had the pleasure of working with, Heather, an amazing client with an even more amazing story.

Heather scheduled a Half Day Pinup Package in January as a present to herself in celebration of her winning battle with Cancer.
In September 2004, Heather was diagnosed with Leukemia and immediately placed in the hospital. She spent 4 months there in critical care, and went into Rehabilitation in March 2005. In her words, "after a long hospital stay I've gone thru hair lose - numerous times, weight lose, weight gain and a whole bunch of not so great stuff. But I'm still here, and I'm currently in remission." So happily, Heather is doing much better and as you can see looks healthy and beautiful!!

Her story touched us all as she "wanted to feel beautiful and be the center of attention for a good reason." My stylists and I were so happy that we could accommodate and provide Heather with "a great experience" and pinups photos to celebrate her remission. After receiving her photos Heather emailed, "I am so pleased with how my pics came out. I look beautiful! So thank you once again for my wonderful day and my beautiful pics. I'm definately going to do this again."

More De-Luxe Pinup Images

The holidays and Valentine's Day have kept me super busy working in the studio so I have not had much time to update the Pinup Gallery on my website with all of my new images. Since the Valentine's Day rush is almost over, I will be working on updating my website galleries and will have lots of new images online soon as I photographed over 250 beautiful gals as pinups in 2008!

In between working in the studio and processing lots of print orders I did find time to edit a few more De-Luxe Pinups from 2008 that pay homage to my favorite Pinup Artist, Gil Elvgren. The images are based off of two of his illustrations entitled "A Splendid View" and "Aiming To Please." One of my pinup clients, Courtney, who first posed as a pinup in 2007 returned to the studio to model for these pics. She's always great fun to work with and we all just adore her!

I am currently editing a few more of these high concept pinups so keep checking back as the photos will be posted in the next few weeks!

New De-Luxe Pinup Image

It's been a long time in the making and finally after hundreds of hours in both pre-production and post-production my homage to Elvgren's "Air Conditioned" is finsihed! This image has always been one of my favorite pinups.

My amazing team and I worked hard to recreate the image and our model, Rachel was an absolute angel during the shoot. Her patience was amazing as her skirt was not only stuffed with paper but was also being blown up with a huge fan. She stood in the same pose barely able to move let alone breath for well over an hour so we could make all the little adjustments needed. What a perfect pinup model she is - we love you Rachel!

Many of my clients are interested in posing in elaborate scenes like the one pictured here. I really enjoy these elaborate photo shoots but please keep in mind that these De-Luxe Pinups have different rates then my normal package prices due to their elaborate nature. 2008 has been a very exciting and very busy year at my studio!

So far this year over 250 clients have booked pinup photo sessions and have enjoyed their unique and fun experience being transformed into vintage beauties.

In between photographing clients, I did find time to take several special "high concept" pinup photos for my portfolio which I will be adding to the website in the next month - so keep checking back! These photos were months in the making and are inspired by some of my favorite classic pinup illustrations. A few of these new images will also be featured in a soon to be released book "For The Boys:Pinups For The Troops." Life couldn't be better and I am eternally grateful that every day I get to wake up and look forward to "going to work!"

I am currently scheduling all sessions into January 2009 so if you would like to pose as a pinup in time for Valentine's Day then definitely plan ahead and book a session soon!

Available dates will book extremely fast as the pinups are very, very popular Valentine Day presents!

If you are a client who has posed or will pose for a pinup session on or before Sept. 30, 2008 I will need to receive your print order no later then October 25th in order to guarantee your prints will arrive in time for the holidays.
For clients posing in October this deadline does not apply to you as you will receive a different print order deadline date upon receiving your proofs.

Due to the high demand for the holidays print orders will take a little longer then the usual time 3-4 weeks time.

If you are thinking of posing as a pinup and would like to have your prints in time for the holidays then you must schedule your session for sometime in either September or October.
If you come in for a session in November you will have your proofs in time for the holidays BUT not your prints.

This means that there are fewer appointments available during the holiday pinup rush and dates are already booking super fast so it's a great idea to schedule now. New Pinups Soon To Be Published In A Book!

I am so excited to be part of an amazing pinup book, "For The Boys: Pinups For The Troops."

The book was first published last year by Rocket Science Productions and the 2nd edition will be out in about a month with even more pinup photos - including three of my images! The 156-page, glossy, full-color collectors edition will feature pristeen Gil Elvgren illustrations and photo re-creations by myself and other photographers from all over the country.

The three illustrations I chose to recreate are some of my all time favorite Elvgren paintings and my team and I worked very, very hard to get the photos to closely ressemble the original illustrations. Here is a sneak peak at one of the my photos based off of Gil Elvgren's "Overexposed."

Keep checking back for more info & photos. As soon as the 2nd edition is published I will have all the info on how you can purchase a copy for yourself or show your support by purchasing a copy for a troop overseas.

I have been having a few problems with my website & email recently - which many of you have written to me about.
The problem should finally be solved ... YEAH!!!! I have had an overwhelming amount of people visiting my website and emailing me over the past few months - which is a great thing - but all the traffic made my server crash! There was a large chunk of emails that I did not receive so if you have emailed me recently and did not receive a response then please email me again and I promise to get back to you asap! The vimby.com video on my pinups was one of three videos chosen from across the country to be show in Cannes, France for a Digital Video and Film Festival...YEAH!!!!! Vimby.com features hundreds of videos from all over the country so for mine to be chosen is a huge honor. Of course, most of this is due to the huge talents of Josh Coyne, the super talented filmmaker who produced the entire piece. Watch out Cannes ... my pinups are headin' your way!!!!!

WMMR's Kathy & Marisa Rock the Pinups!

Today, Kathy and Marisa from 93.3 WMMR's Preston and Steve Show spent the day at the studio posing as pinups! I love working with Kathy and Marisa - we all have a great time and they know how to work the camera as vintage vixens. The shoot lasted for about 6 hours since we did three different pinup poses - but time flies when you are having fun. I took over 400 images and have a lot of editing to do but I can't wait to see how the photos turned out! The best shots of the day are definitely from the set where both Kathy and Marisa rocked their pinup style while cooking steaks and hot dogs on a BBQ! What else can I say ... two sexy gals ... garters ... grilling ... use your imagination! Keep checking back as I will be posting a few of the photos on my blog within the next few weeks. Much thanks to my stylists Kirsten and Raina for working their magic and transforming the gals into pinup perfection!

Josh Coyne, an amazingly talented filmmaker, recently visited my studio to film a piece on my pinup photography for vimby.com, a video content company devoted to capturing young lifestyle and culture all over the nation. One of my favorite pinup gals, Courtney, was posing for me that day. She really worked hard - especially on that vintage exercise machine - which we did have on for many of the photos ... how else would she get such realistic caught in the moment pinup expressions! Of course my stylists, Kirsten and Raina did all the makeup & hair! Josh's video turned out perfect - he does such great work. I am so excited to forever have such an awesome piece on my photography!

Congrats to Heather & Dan who recently became engaged during Heather's Pinup Session in early March. Dan contacted me hoping to not only surprise his beautiful gal, Heather, with a pinup session but also to surprise her with an engagement ring. Props to Dan for thinking of such a unique proposal idea!!! The proposal was amazing - Heather was completely taken by surprise - and the excitement of the moment brought tears to all our eyes.
